WHAT’S HAPPENING
NOW

Richard III

This spring, Richard III comes to life at the Nimbus Arts Center in a bold new adaptation by THE CURTAIN. Adapted and directed by Producing Artistic Director, Sean Hagerty, this morbidly comic, blood-soaked classic invites audiences to meet Shakespeare’s most notorious king as he claws his way to the top. First premiering in 1592, Richard III remains a disturbingly funny and chilling portrait on the ruthless pursuit of power, moral decay, and the horrific cost of unchecked authority. Come meet everyone’s favorite serial-killer King in this strictly limited engagement!

Julius Caesar

Presented in four weekly episodes, Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare’s best known and most oft-quoted plays, chronicling the political and moral crisis of Brutus and his fellow conspirators as they plot to murder Caesar to prevent a dictatorship. First performed in 1599, this timeless play examines the razor-thin line between power and corruption, duty and ambition, and the perils of a state divided.

Digital Education Initiative

In this isolated age post-coronavirus, The Curtain realizes that theatre field trips—sometimes a student’s first or only introduction to theatre—have been severely cut back, or in some cases lost. To that end, we have developed, with a team of Shakespeare scholars and education professionals, a series of study guides to accompany our radio theatre dramas.

These dynamic, multi-media guides, filled with activities, lesson plans, actor interviews, and more, are designed to be used in a classroom or virtual setting. They are provided free of charge to qualifying schools, teachers, and educational institutions.
